Meet Ms. Jen

Hello, my name is Jennifer Darling, and I have been working with children for most of my life. I started working in my mother's daycare at age 12. Those parents would hire me for their date nights to watch their children from their homes. As an adult, I have created and ran an environmental education program at a camp in North Carolina for two years that is still running. I have been a teacher's assistant in NC for several elementary grade levels for 3 years, a middle school permanent substitute for 3 years, and drove a school bus for elementary and high schools for 3 years. Here in Missouri, I have helped start up two 4H groups for the communities. One being for homeschooled special needs children, and one for public school and homeschooled kids of working parents. I have taught several classes for them each year, such as outdoor adventures, exploring your environment, geology, entomology, etc. I opened my licensed daycare in 2015, and have been growing and changing along the way to fit the needs of the children that come thru it.

My Goals

I will provide a quality care environment at Little Steps Big Dreams. I will provide reliable consistent care and early education with each child benefiting from lots of one-on-one care and be treated, as they were my own, in a positive, safe nurturing manner.  Each child will be valued as part of the group and as an individual whose presence is important to us all.  I hope to give children a sense of self-worth by helping them develop at their own individual pace while learning basic skills in a respectful atmosphere.

A Safe Place to Learn & Grow

My main goal is to instill a love of the world into these children. I want them to know that there is so much more to life than just what is indoors, along with providing a safe place to learn and grow.
